Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of this website and platform, operated by the Centre for Humanitarian Impact ("CHI", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the platform, you agree to them.
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. Using this site
Anyone can browse our public content — trainings, publications, news, projects, and working groups — without an account. Registering an account is required to enrol in courses, join working groups, or manage an organisation's staff.
2. Your account
When you register, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date
- Keep your password confidential and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- Take responsibility for activity that happens under your account
3. Organisation accounts
If you register on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to do so. Organisation admins are responsible for the employee accounts they invite, including removing access when someone leaves the organisation.
4. Course registration and working groups
Registering for a training or joining a working group through the platform reserves your place or membership but does not by itself constitute a certificate of completion — certificates are issued separately once course requirements are met. We may adjust schedules, capacity, or availability of trainings and working groups at our discretion, and will let you know of material changes affecting something you've registered for.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for anything unlawful or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours
- Interfere with the normal operation of the site (e.g. attempting to overload or disrupt it)
- Copy or republish our published content (trainings, publications, reports) for commercial purposes without permission
6. Content and intellectual property
The text, publications, course materials, and design of this site belong to CHI or our licensors unless stated otherwise. You may read, download, and share our public publications for non-commercial, attribution-preserving purposes.
7. Disclaimers
We aim to keep the platform accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" without warranties of any kind. Crisis-map and project information reflects our best understanding at the time of publication and may not capture every real-time development on the ground.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CHI is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or poses a risk to the platform or other users. You can ask us to close your account at any time from Account Settings or by contacting us.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye.
